What is the price of lessons?

Lessons are offered by the week. Group lessons include 5 x 1 hour classes Monday- Friday. Private lessons include 5 x 30 minute classes Monday - Friday.

Group lessons are $250/week.
Private lessons are $275/week.

Where are lessons held? Do you travel teach?

All lessons are held in our heated pool in East Memphis. 
The address is 6417 Forest Grove Dr.

We do not offer travel teaching at this time!

Question 3

What age can my child start swim lessons?

For group lessons,  your child must turn 3 years old by June 1, 2025 to participate.

Private Lessons or Parent & Me classes are perfect for all children under the age of 3.

How do I know which level is right for my child?

How many weeks do you recommend?

For Levels 1 & 2, we recommend children take two weeks of Level 1 one summer and two weeks of Level 2 the following summer.

For the Parent & Me class and Levels 3-5, one week per summer typically suffices!

Are parents able to stay and watch the lessons?

Group Lessons: No, we do not allow parents to stay and observe group lessons. Children are dropped off and picked up in the carpool line. On the last day of lessons, videos are taken of the learned skills. The video link is then sent to you over the weekend!

Private Lessons: Yes, parents are able to stay and watch during private lessons.

Throughout the summer we offer Meet the Teacher events. It can be such a help for newly registered or nervous swimmers to meet our staff, see the pool and build familiarity before coming for lessons. If interested, sign up via the link below!

Question 7

What does my child need for lessons?

Swimmers need to be dressed in a swimsuit with shoes that can easily be slipped on and off. NO socks & tennis shoes!

Swimmers need a towel and goggles. Please label the goggles with the swimmer's name.

Please send your child in a swim diaper if they are not potty trained.

How many students are in a group class?

Group lessons have a capacity of 6 students with 2 instructors. We have two group classes happening in the same hour!

What if the class I want is full?

Please join our waiting list; it is free of charge! If we are able to offer you a spot, we will email + text the contact provided in your Captyn profile.

What happens if a swim lesson is rained out?

Accepted Answer

If a swim lesson is rained out, you will be notified via text message. The message will be sent from Captyn to the phone number provided at registration.

Weather related cancellations are made up the following Saturday at the same time as your scheduled class.

In the event of illness or extenuating circumstances, please email us and we will do our best to accommodate you!

We are unable to make up for vacations, birthday parties, or sporting events. With the number of participants and lessons involved, we have to hold to this policy. Thank you for understanding!
